About Us - Blake House

Blake House is led by its founder Wendy Tunnicliffe, together with a small friendly team.

Before starting Blake House, Wendy ran a property business in York and experienced many of the problems you may now be facing in the hunt for office space. The offices were too big, the contracts were too long, there were big up-front investments that would take time and money. Her business ran for about 10 years, and in that time the number of employees went up and down, but the space and the costs had to stay the same.

Uninspired by the white boxes, carpet tiles and strip lighting on offer, Wendy took on the building that was to become the first Blake House to create her own office, and offer up the rest of the rooms to fellow entrepreneurs.

When Blake House proved a hit, Wendy sold her property company to focus on opening more sites. Now Blake House has three offices in York City Centre, with more planned for the future. We offer small, affordable, and inspiring workspaces, with no upfront investment, no long contracts and the ability to flex your space as your business needs change.

So we can enjoy seeing you go from a Virtual address while working from home, to Coworking, and then onto a private office. We are home to a lovely bunch of talented individuals who like to get together at Blake House Parties, Friday Pub Meetups or just at the coffee machine.
